Racko! Sorry! and Easy Oatmeal Cookies

Board games are making a big comeback!

(Don’t forget to check out the printable recipe link at the end of the post)

.

.

Giving the computer a break for a while, the girls and I decided to drag out

some board games.

Did we ever have fun playing Racko and then Sorry!

We had so much fun, we decided to make at least one night a week

a Game Night.

..

Of course, Game Night calls for having some snacks.

I knew I had some baking ingredients

so I went on a search for the

easiest oatmeal cookie recipe I could find.

This one fits the bill!

Easy Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2  cup butter (1 stick), softened

1 Cup self rising flour

1 egg

2 Cups Quick Cooking oatmeal

Combine ingredients in large bowl or your Kitchenaid mixer.  Mix well. Make small balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet

Dip the bottom of a drinking glass or a cookie press in sugar and use to flatten cookies.  Bake at 350º 10 – 12 minutes.  They won’t darken up a lot, but they’ll be delicious!

NOTE: If you have all purpose flour on hand  – for each cup of all purpose flour, add 1 1/4 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

  1. The recipe was too dry did not work for me at all.

  2. These sound simple and delicious! I don’t have self-rising flour on hand, any ideas on how much baking soda/powder and salt I should add? Thanks

    very nice. interesting post

  7. These look great and so easy! I love board games. We play Monopoly a lot around here.

  8. Board games are great. This Ozarks farm chick remembers when the kids were teens and they’d bring their dates over we would drag out the board games to keep the ‘teens’ minds and hands busy. Now we’re pullin’ them out for the eight, yep ya’ll read it correctly….eight grandkiddos!!!

The cookies sound very easy and look good enough to lick the dang screen. Hubby has been into my oatmeal, raisin, chocolate chip cookies with just a little drizzle of caramel drizzle over the top. Yep, I’ve got him just a little spoiled.

From the hills and hollers of the Missouri Ponderosa, ya’ll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
